How SolveKITCHENER uses public data

Open Data

SolveKITCHENER uses publicly available datasets from the Kitchener GIS Open Data (ArcGIS Hub), licensed under the Open Government Licence - The Corporation of the City of Kitchener. Source licences allow free use with attribution.

The infrastructure you see on the SolveKITCHENER map — parks, sidewalks, fire stations, and community centres across the city — comes from these public datasets. We present this data in a way that helps residents explore their city and report issues when something needs attention.

What we do with it

We display city infrastructure data on an interactive map so residents can see what's around them and take action. Every asset is clickable. Every asset is reportable. Reports go directly to the city and your ward councillor.

We do not sell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any open data. We do not modify the source data.

Data accuracy

All data is imported as-is from the source. SolveKITCHENER does not guarantee the accuracy of open data published by the City of Kitchener or other providers. If you notice an error in infrastructure data, it should be reported to the original data publisher.
